Gentle tongue-tie care in the comfort of your home, by experienced midwife Gem.

Helping families find a new beginning in their feeding journey

Day One Midwife

About Day One Midwife

I’m Gem, a practising midwife and qualified tongue-tie practitioner. I’ve been supporting families since 2008, working within the NHS and privately across pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period.

My own experience of tongue-tie, affecting both of my children, deepened my passion for supporting parents through the challenges it can bring. I know first-hand how stressful it can feel and understand what it's like to be the parent while your baby receives treatment.

Whether you are breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or doing a bit of both, my role is to support you without judgement and with balanced, evidence based advice.

I created Day One Midwife to provide a responsive service for families in the comfort of their own surroundings. I offer thorough assessment, careful explanation, and same-day frenulotomy where clinically appropriate. All without the wait, travel or disruption of attending a clinic appointment.

Your home is a familiar and reassuring place where baby can feed and settle comfortably, and where you can ask questions openly without feeling rushed. Here, the whole experience often feels calmer and more manageable.

My goal is always to provide personalised care that puts your baby’s needs and your confidence at the centre, delivered without unnecessary delay.
